 Mission
Michelman is a global manufacturer of performance-enhancing functional and decorative coatings for the paperboard and corrugated box industries; and additives for many industries including flexible packaging, fiberglass, paint, coatings, and ink.
As Purchasing and Transport Manager you will be in charge of:
- Lead the Logistics Department in optimizing the flow of materials and cost structure while delighting our customers.
- Negotiate and manage all contracts and agreements for materials used at the Aubange facility.
- Determine and manage finished goods and raw material inventory levels, developing key performance indicators to indicate how the organization is tracking against the goals.
- Manage the warehouse, and freight functions to deliver superior customer service to our valued customer base.
- Implement appropriate sourcing and logistics strategies to control the company's purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply while driving out non-value added costs.
- Achieve financial aspects of the Operations department, including the day to day operations, budgeting, and budget review. Measures include Cost per pound, pounds per person hour, inventory turns/levels, employee turnover and satisfaction, on-time shipments and delivery
- Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcing, consultant contracts.
- Manage Logistics Team.
- Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement all policies and procedures, standards, purchasing, and service provision to ensure lawful applicability.
- Provide regular communications to the executives, other managers, and end users regarding pertinent activities

 Profil
With a business degree in Logistics and/or Purchasing, you have already a strong proven track record in a purchasing or in a business related function. The knowledge of the chemical industry will be considered as a strong asset. Pragmatics and hands-on people, you have strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. You are able to identify potential savings by establishing contracts, potentially global, with existing Michelman global suppliers and by driving saving programs with the Michelman-laboratories around the world (Cincinnati, Aubange, Singapore). You are willing to travel.
You are fluent in both English and French and you communicate effectively with all levels in an organization, as well as with supplier and customers.
